Track #25, Volume 1

It seems that the Lads from Basildon, Essex, caught more than your average downpour during their last stop in Seattle. Specifically, Dave Gahan, who just most recently in May, had undergone surgery to have a cancerous tumor removed from his bladder. Now, he has been apparently ordered, by his doctors, to rest his vocal chords for a minimum 48 hours.

This means we miss the DMode “Tour of the Universe” show while SoCal, gets 4 dates---- DaMn!

Depeche Mode released this statement on their official website, www.depechemode.com:

"Depeche Mode has been forced to cancel their scheduled appearance on Wednesday, August 12th at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California due to doctor's orders that lead singer Dave Gahan be on complete vocal rest for 48 hours. Because of their busy schedule, a new Bay Area date will not be rescheduled this year.

"San Francisco is one of the most important cities to the band and we are devastated that we have been forced to cancel this date," said Dave Gahan. "We hope to be back soon to play for all of our fans in the area."

Here's one song that I looked forward to seeing from Dave (as he spun like a dervish, with that mic stand around, making everyone pukingly dizzy) :)

Last I heard, it seems that Dave has taken recluse, recovery and some much needed relaxation just west of the South Bay venue, at The Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay. I'm sure he'll find all those, including perhaps, some inspiration from the Perseids meteor shower above and the amazing views, overlooking the coastal bluffs below, of our awesome NorCal coastline.

Get better, Dave! Remember, it's just 'A Question Of Time'----
